We first met Jessi and Andrew in early October. They came into Malka Diamonds in downtown Portland to find an engagement ring. The two were accompanied by a very loving "entourage" of people. The group was made up of family members including a grandmother, mother, and sister. Jessi started to look around the store but it was only a few minutes until she spotted her future engagement ring. The piece was in our vintage case. It was a platinum Art Deco engagement ring with tapered baguette diamonds on the sides. She fell in love with it and so did her adorable "entourage". We then worked with Andrew to place the family diamond into the center and get it sized and ready for the engagement. It was a real pleasure to work with this entire family. Congratulations Jessi and Andrew. Thank you for choosing Malka Diamonds to be part of this special moment in your lives. Below find Jessi & Andrew's story, it's a sweet one.
"We were both Peace Corps Volunteers in Panama and met just before Andrew finished his service. A few months later he headed back to the US. I still had another year of service and we did not want to be apart, so Andrew returned to Panama. After the end of my service in 2015, we decided we weren't quite ready for real life and so we left for Beijing, China to teach English for a year. We returned to Portland in August 2016. We had decided to get married after about a month of dating. When we wandered into into Malka Diamonds and Jewelry I wasn't looking for anything in particular. One look at "the ring" just like one look at "the one" and I knew. On a sunny day in November, Andrew got down on one knee at Council Crest and asked me to marry him! " - Jessi
